HP PHOTOSMART PREMIUM C140a – Is it really smart?

HP Photosmart Premium C410a helps the user to get faster high quality prints and with its technologies like ePrint and AirPrint one can send print jobs via email and directly from Apple IOS device. It is a low cost inkjet for the home and multifunction printer for office.

With the size specification of 28.3cm x 46.8cm x 45.3cm, it is a mid size multipurpose printer. It comes with 2 paper trays; A 125 sheet paper tray with a 20 sheet photo paper tray above it. It offers home users to have a dedicated photo tray, thus saving the manual loading of photo paper when changing from document and pictures. 125 sheet paper tray is for legal size paper and photo paper tray is for 5x7 inch-paper.

The printer comes with the touch screen technology, with a 2.4 inch status LCD screen. 3 Media card slots are provided along with pictBridge USB port for direct interface with a digital camera. You can select the pictures you want to print, few editing can be done before one says final yes for the printing.

The C140a comes with Ethernet and Wi-Fi networking. With the help of ePrint Technology, one can email the printer with the attachment to be printed out. Airprint technology helps one can print from I- phone once the printer is synced to a wireless network. The printer also has print apps from HP.

Additional free applications can also be installed, but for that an account is required at HP’s eprint center website.

With a resolution of 4800 dpi, the scanned and copied documents look sharp and better. With a 5 ink tank system (Yellow, Cyan, Magenta and 2 Black Cartridges), the printer can print up to 750 pages, with each page costing just 10 cents.

Performance wise the printer is good in its price range. During the speed test, just over 8 pages of monochrome text, 4 pages of color graphics and 6 power point slides were produced per minute.

The printer does not negotiate the quality, it is able is provide the user with sharp and crisp quality pictures. Printer is limited by its low capacity paper tray.
